The National Centre for Coordination of Eary Warning and Response Mechanism (NCCRM) is a product of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Early Warning Mechanism to provide early warning on threats to national and regional security as well as bridge the gap between early warning and response. Consequent to that, the NCCRM was established to assist the ECOWAS Commission in the timely identification of emerging crises in West Africa and the implementation of an improved crisis response in respective member states and the sub-region following the endorsement by the ECOWAS Heads of States and Governments at its 45th Ordinary Session held in Accra on 14 July 2014.

The National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism in Ghana is established by law to coordinate and manage early warning systems and response mechanisms, with a focus on identifying and responding to emerging crises.
